jollibee in NY - and all the filipinos cheer

ok ok, we fell for all the hype and decided to venture out to woodside and try out jollibee for rich's bday.........who ended up actually not making it :o(

anyways, for those who are filipino-lly challenged - jollibee is like the filipino mcdonald's (eventhough we do have mcdonalds as well) see here: http://nymag.com/daily/food/2009/02/philippines_most_popular_fast.html

we went on a wednesday night and luckily there was no "2 hour wait" around the block. we realized that the long lines are probably due to the fact that whenever you order chicken joy it takes a long time to cook it.

jollibee was yummy - i mean its still fast food but i guess there is that nostalgia about it. and you cant help but laugh ordering fried chicken called "chickenjoy" and then getting- not a side, but a sideKICK of buttered corn or maybe some filipino spaghetti or rice. here's the rundown of the night. my last tidbit of info - they give sides of gravy for your chickenjoy even if you dont have mashed potatoes..genius!

caution: i dont know if its just because we're fat but watch your wallets when ordering - you can spend $50 easy!
