of course i was so into the food again that i only got the piture above - the last piece of peking porkchop that dj couldn't finish eventhough reggie saved him the last bite. awwww those lovebirds.
i must have blogged about veggie heaven before but if not - its a sit down, completely vegetarian chinese restaurant. here's a running commentary of what our table had:
- steamed dumplings: pretty normal
- deluxe scallion pancakes: these are my favorite - you can barely tell that the "duck" or "ham" is fake! its that hoisin sauce i tell ya lol
- house special lo mein: i love it though we got some feedback that the "meat" in it was a little off
- general tso's chicken: again, one of my faves but if you wait too long to eat them they get a little squirty in your mouth when you bite into them and reveal even more that they arent chicken. i like the "ball" form better than the sliced though the other table got sliced and preferred it
- sizzling beef in pepper sauce: i love it - ask meradel she knows lol - the sauce is good, it tastes like pepper steak
- house fried rice: pretty basic dish, the usual
- shitake mushrooms with bok choi: self-explanatory
- broccoli in garlic sauce: i could eat broccoli for the rest of my life and die a happy girl
- peking style pork chops: the winner of the night for most, though you can get a bad batch and the "pork" turns out gummy
ummmm...did we order anything else? i can't remember lol..must have been all that vino. i must say, not everyone loves it but i always tell people to at least give it a try!
