amidst all of the blockus games and forced tequila/vodka shots - there was of course, food. though the menu might seem weird, it is actually a standard for our little group but usually makes its appearance on Tuesday nights.
the main event - BON CHON CHICKEN!!! if you've never had it, i highly suggest going to try some. since we didn't go to korean bbq - why not have the next best thing which is the new KFC aka korean fried chicken? http://www.bonchon.com/
though their website might seem a little quirky - it is really like heaven. it doesn't taste at all like regular fried chicken - it almost has like..a glaze on it which gives it a hint of sweetness. if you order from bon chon they only have 2 things on their menu: regular or spicy. watchout now if you go for the spicy - it is SUPER spicy. i think i can only deal with one little wing and i'm set for the night. and the best part is, it comes with pickled radish which is one of my favorites. for you filipinos out there it tastes like "achara".
the tuesday night accompaniment for bon chon is arlyn's specialty: poutine!! she gets the curds from trader joes, fries from mcdonalds, and gravy from....shop rite? lol i dunno. but it is "sooooooo gooood". below is my best friend, turd, declaring her love for the cheesy goodness:
to top off the night, they brought a special surprise - mcdonalds apple pies!
sorry the picture is blurry, i'm still not used to my new phone. ok, and for those that are paying attention, yes - reggie was there so technically it wasn't a "girls night in" but in a way - it really was :o) lol just kidding!
we topped those pies off with some vanilla ice cream..mMmMM
we ended the night being true mom-status and brought out the magic mic. a little bon jovi, a few tagalog songs - and the final number with lil' d & camela line dancing to "september".
