happy 1st bday princess lara!

yesterday steph, turd & i went to lara's 1st bday at the knights of columbus in kenilworth. had to mention where it was because this was THE nicest knights of columbus that i've ever seen! (of course i'm an idiot and don't have a picture). it was all renovated nice like a real banquet hall.


food consisted of typical filipino party fare: pancit (our version of lo mein), fried chicken, beef, and fresh lumpia - kind of like a larger summer roll made up with lettuce and vegetables. YUM

pinky (lara's mom......and she's also my mom too! hehe) got a magician/face painter/balloon artist - this guy was a jack of all trades and had to be on something because he was WAY too happy to do his job. word on the street is that we're going to ask him to do different "shapes" of balloons and hire him for the next bachelorette party...if you know what i mean.

though i didn't try it - it looked amazing and i heard it had an oreo filling with a red velvet cake. WOW! it looked just like the picture except on the base it had a little icing that said "happy 1st birthday lara"

can i have a cool cake like this for my bday too mom?
